They are currently hiring two (2) Multi-Region Field Representatives, who will be based at two of the following locations:

📍 Location: Hybrid – Western, NY

• Region 1: Buffalo

• Region 2: Hornell

• Region 3: Rochester

• Region 4: Syracuse

• Region 5: Binghamton

• Region 6: Utica

• Region 7: Potsdam

💰 Salary Range: $68,341 – $97,973 Annually
🚗 Transportation Allowance: $282 Biweekly

Position Summary:

This individual is an innovative advocate whose central function is to protect the Bargaining Unit Member's and the Union's rights under the Collective Bargaining Agreement, applicable laws, rules and regulations through a variety of means including negotiations, grievance handling, Taylor Law improper practice processing, organizing, and otherwise exercising their expert labor/management skills in achieving gains for PEF and its membership. Moreover, a Field Representative is the focal point of the union's service delivery system and is responsible for ensuring that problems identified by the membership or leadership which are not within their sphere of responsibility are communicated to the appropriate PEF Department and then act as a facilitator and conduit for the responses to the inquiries. In delivering PEF resources they will comply with and be advocates for all policies as set forth by the Convention Delegates, President and Executive Board.

The position involves a mix of travel and office-based work.

What You’ll Do:

✅ Represent and advocate for PEF members in grievance handling, contract negotiations, and labor relations
✅ Counsel members on their rights and options under the Collective Bargaining Agreement
✅ Train and support PEF representatives on workplace rights, organizing, and contract enforcement
✅ Collaborate with leadership to advance union initiatives and member engagement
✅ Conduct worksite visits to support members and gather workplace insights
✅ Participate in labor-management meetings and represent members in disciplinary proceedings
✅ Assist in organizing campaigns, contract enforcement, and addressing workplace issues

What You’ll Need:

🔹 Experience as a union representative, elected official, or labor advocate
🔹 Knowledge of labor laws, contract negotiations, and grievance handling
🔹 Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
🔹 Ability to work independently and travel within assigned regions
🔹 Driver’s license & access to a vehicle required
🔹 Bachelor's degree in labor relations or related field preferred
